Famous in 12...Weeks

By: Diamond Young

Sooooo... there is a new show called Famous in 12. Famous in 12 what? 12 weeks!! Yes there is a show about becoming famous in 12 weeks. The show is centered around a family (the Artiaga family) from Beaumont, Ca. They are risking everything, including their jobs, to move to LA to complete this task. FAMOUS IN 12 is an unscripted series/social experiment that will film the fame-seeking family around the clock for 12 weeks straight.

The family will be guided by the TMZ crew including Harvey Levin (executive producer), who will create a series of opportunities for them, as well as locations, where the family can definitely be seen and heard. At the end of the 12 weeks Harvey will inform the Artiaga family if they have reached fame or not. Social media platforms will definitely be a factor in this matter. Whether they are talked about in a positive or negative way, it is based off of simply being talked about.

Last week the family met singer/artist Ray J and rapper/producer Soulja Boy, created a networking opportunity by pretending to be a celebrity on the red carpet, and discussed a sex tape. Let's see how far this family goes to reach fame.

The cast consist of Angie Artiaga (mother), Mike Artiage (father), Jameelah  El-Shabazz (daughter), Maariyah El Shabazz (daughter), and Taliah Artiga (daughter).

The show premiered its first episode June 3, 2014 on the CW.  "Famous in 12" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CW.
